Description of wood-based material testing

As part of the services offered, we conduct a comprehensive analysis of wood-based materials, which includes testing their physical and chemical properties. The purpose of these analyses is to assess the quality of the materials and their compliance with market and regulatory requirements. The scope of our testing includes:

  • Formaldehyde emissions from MDF and OSB boards: Evaluation of formaldehyde emissions from wood-based materials, which is crucial for ensuring user safety and compliance with indoor air quality standards, in accordance with the standard PN-EN ISO 12460-3.
  • Formaldehyde content: Precise analysis of the formaldehyde content in materials using the perforator method, in accordance with the standard PN-EN ISO 12460-5This test aims to assess the impact of materials on indoor air quality.
  • Moisture content and density of wood-based panels: Measurement of moisture content in materials is crucial for assessing their stability, durability, and suitability for further processing and use. The tests comply with the standard EN 322Additionally, we perform an analysis of material density (bulk density), which allows for the assessment of structure, mechanical strength, and functional properties, in accordance with the standard EN 323.

Tested objects
Our tests cover a wide range of wood-based materials, including:

  • Plywood: Multilayer composite materials used in construction, furniture manufacturing, and other technical applications.
  • Laminated boards: Materials coated with a protective layer, used in furniture manufacturing and finishing elements.
  • OSB (Oriented Strand Board) panels: Panels with an oriented strand structure, widely used in construction.
  • Particleboards: Composite materials primarily used in furniture manufacturing and interior finishing.
  • MDF and HDF boards: Medium- and high-density fiberboards, used in furniture production, wall panels, and decorative elements.
